1. Who we are

Travel Insurance Comparison NZ (travelinsurancecomparison.co.nz) is operated by Evolve Group Limited (FSP711891), trading as Evolve. Evolve is the agency that collects and holds the personal information described in this policy, under the Privacy Act 2020. Contact details are in section 8.

2. What we collect

When you send a quote request or contact form, we collect what you enter:

  • your name, email address and phone number
  • trip details: destination, departure and return dates, number of travellers, planned activities and the type of cover you are interested in
  • anything you write in a message

Giving us this information is optional, but we cannot respond to an enquiry without a way to contact you. Please do not include health details in a form; if they are needed for a quote, Evolve will ask for them directly.

On the live site we also use Google Analytics, which collects information about how the site is used: pages visited, approximate location, device and browser type, and referring site. It uses cookies. Our hosting provider keeps standard server logs, which include IP addresses.

3. Why we collect it

  • to respond to your enquiry and help you obtain a travel insurance quote
  • to understand how the site is used so we can improve it (analytics)
  • to keep the site secure and meet our legal obligations

We do not sell your personal information.

4. Who receives it

  • Evolve Group Limited: every enquiry sent through this site goes to Evolve.
  • An insurer or broker: if Evolve refers your enquiry to an insurer or broker to obtain a quote, only the details needed for that quote are shared.
  • Service providers that run the site for us: Netlify (hosting and form handling) and Google (analytics).
  • Regulators or authorities, where the law requires it.

5. Storage outside New Zealand

Netlify, Inc. stores form submissions and server logs, and Google LLC processes analytics data. Both are based in the United States and may store information outside New Zealand. The protections there may not be the same as under the Privacy Act 2020. We use these providers only for the purposes in section 3.

6. How long we keep it and how we protect it

We keep enquiry details only as long as needed to deal with your enquiry and meet Evolve's record-keeping obligations as a Financial Advice Provider. The site is served over HTTPS, and access to submissions is limited to the people who handle enquiries.

7. Your rights

You can ask to see the personal information we hold about you and ask us to correct it. You can also ask us to delete it or to stop contacting you. To opt out of Google Analytics, use your browser's cookie settings or Google's opt-out add-on.
